All in all, Mum was thrilled – if tired – from the visit. The third floor, and the back sections will have to wait a future visit.
We visited the gift shop, and then left for Cobleskill, since there were no major hotels in this town according to AAA – odd, but there you are. The drive away from Cooperstown south was as indirect as the drive in from the north, confirming its isolation in this rugged farmland in the foothills of the mountains.
At Cobleskill, we found a place to eat at, and then the hotel, which was among the most scenic we stayed at.
