Day 21 – Wrapping up the visit at President Hayes House

Once the tour was done, Mum went into the library, and Pops took Trixie – who was getting antsy – to the car. Mum spent over an hour in the imposing confines, while Trixie and Pops waited.  Tribe eventually took Pops on a walk around the house to take photos.

The library is a site unto itself – there is the modern part, with carefully displayed artifacts, and the classic side, where Hayes bust sits in the center of a small vestibule, the old entryway, that is built like an ancient temple with 19th century glass accents, a meeting of the ancient and the modern. One side is a sort of review of Presidents, up to President Clinton; the other, a collection of dresses and artifacts to compliment the much larger displays in the modern side.
