Day 13: Buffalo Bill Reservoir

The Buffalo Bill Reservoir

The Buffalo Bill Reservoir

Outside of Cody, we pause at the Buffalo Bill Reservior, built in 1910 – a dam that may have been the prototype for the Hoover Dam we visited so long ago. It is not as well located or known though, and since it is well past tour time, we have to admire the view of the lake and relics they left in the parking area, before driving on through a tunnel next to the dam and down into the town of Cody.

The hotel is easy to find here, and appears to be a favorite stop for bikers and Amish alike. Now there’s a combination you don’t see every day!
