By now, fitful weather forced us to don our fleeces, and even so, it remains cold – 48 degrees or so, after suffering from 90 degree weather through much of Utah.

We make it to Old Faithful of course – it stews and steams fitfully, as people gather on the raise platforms around it, awaiting the appointed hour, 6:23 pm, plus or minus ten minutes. At the appointed time, it goes off, erupting in a geyser of steam and a gurgling roar of water, as Mum and Trixie sit and watch from one side, and Pops watched from another vantage point.

With this done, and a call to Trixie’s boy later to see how his homework was going, we start driving to Gardiner, Montana where our hotel is located.
