We headed off to the Mennonite Visitor’s Center we passed the previous day, to try and get some tips from the local tour people.
Actually, there seemed to be two centers, one for the Amish, which was holding a huge book sale, and the other more of a Mennonite outreach center, as the Amish are a sub-sect of the Mennonite faith. The center was interesting, offering a small exhibit, a movie about their faith, and a large gift shop area with the products of villages from around the world.
The best part was the person there, who laid out a route for us to follow for the morning. By the time she was done highlighting the map, Pop thought she should have gotten a giant magic marker and colored the entire sheet of paper from white to green.
But it was helpful, since at the time we did not have a proper GPS to help guide us around.
